Everyone wants to know how to get flawless skin. We all have to juggle skin issues like acne breakouts, dry skin patches, or rough textured skin. I always thought that the best way to learn how to get flawless skin was to learn to make my skin look beautiful by using makeup. But that is only one step in what should be a lengthy process. To get genuinely beautiful skin, you have to have a reliable skincare routine.
The 10-step Korean skincare routine has been gaining in popularity. Many people are interested in Korean beauty products for fair skin. So I want to tell give you the rundown on that lengthy routine. But I understand that not everyone can do 10-steps every day. So I also want to give you a more reasonable routine. The key to getting your skin perfect is an absolutely glowing skincare routine. Your makeup will look better and you won’t have problems with textured skin.
Once you have some ideas for skincare, I also want to get into makeup options. If you have fair or porcelain skin tone, you may have a hard time finding the right products. Most products are geared towards a skin tone that at least has a little bit of color. Or they are meant to give you some color. But I want to tell you about some of the best Korean foundations to consider. Hopefully, the combination of all these skin tips will help you learn how to get flawless skin and boost your confidence!
Intense Korean Skincare Routine
Until recently, I had never heard anything about a 10-step Korean skincare routine. Probably because I’m too cheap to buy new skincare products on a regular basis. Much less ten very particular products! But then again, I’m not the best example when it comes to skin care. I’ve gotten so much better than I used to be, but I can always use some new suggestions.
But I would like to give you the rundown of the 10-Step Korean Skincare Routine. Just in case you think it might be the right option for you.
The 10-Step Korean Beauty Routine
- Oil Cleanser: You can use this as the first step each evening to remove your makeup. Something like the Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm would work perfectly!
- Foaming Cleanser to wash your skin.
- Exfoliate to clear away dead skin cell buildup.
- Use a toner.
- Essence.
- Serum, Booster or Ampoule Treatment: Extra help for anyone who wants an anti-aging serum or needs to even out their skin tone.
- Hydrating Mask.
- Eye Cream: to help with any dark circles, puffiness, or fine lines.
- Face Cream: This part is meant to give you that deep moisturization overnight.
- SPF: This might be the last step but it is honestly the most important. You need to make sure to always protect your skin from the sun to keep your skin healthy!
I get it. You’re probably thinking about how over the top this skincare routine is. Being a lady with combination skin on the dry side, I understand how hard it is to achieve smooth skin or flawless skin makeup. I always have dry patches that ruin my makeup application.
This might be just the routine I need to take care of my dry skin! While I can’t promise I will be sticking to a routine like this, I certainly will be adopting a few products into my own routine!
Reasonable Daily Skincare Routine
Now, if you are perfectly comfortable with the 10-step routine, more power to you. If you can swing it, I would recommend it. But for those of us that laughed at the idea of buying 10 products to use on a daily basis…there are some other options. We are the type of people feel very accomplished if we wash our faces on a daily basis. Double bonus points if we remember to moisturize!
So following ten steps all the time is not really within our abilities. We might manage it for a few nights before all the expensive products end up sitting by our sink for eternity. Instead, we need a routine that is a simplified version of the 10-step routine. Honestly, all these products are great, but it’s very time-consuming.
Using an oil cleanser to remove your makeup is important. You need to get everything off your face before you begin the whole process. I would also recommend the foaming cleanser or another cleanser of your choice. Getting into the habit of using a toner would be smart. It’s always good to start early. Finish off with a facial moisturizer and an eye cream.
Exfoliating a few times a week can be fantastic for your skin, but I can understand not feeling the need to do this on a daily basis. That also goes for the hydrating mask, essence, and any serums or boosters. The ampoule treatment is another product to consider, but it’s really only important if you need to even out your skin tone.
Make sure you have some kind of skin routine. You need to wash your face and moisturize more than anything else. But if you can work a few extra products into your routine your skin would benefit from the extra love!
Skincare: Inside and Out
Even if you use the best products, your skin may continue to suffer. You might be confused by this because you have tried everything you could find. Everything on how to get flawless skin or how to clear skin. But what you put inside your body affects the outside of your body. Consuming junk food or processed foods can ruin your skin. So I have a few skin tips for you that have nothing to do with skin products.
Drink Water
No matter whether you’re dealing with weight loss or skin problems. Everyone will tell you the same thing. You need to drink as much water as possible. Not only will water hydrate your body, it will also flush your system. The average amount of water that you should drink each day comes out to about half a gallon. You can always add something to the water if you need to. I know there are a lot of people who struggle to get into the habit because they want flavor. But simply adding fruit to your water will fix the problem!
Keep a Clean Diet
Everyone has their own preferences when it comes to their diet. Some people just eat what’s convenient, which is when you get into dangerous territory. In that case, you will eat more carbs, processed foods, and mysterious ingredients.
Focus on eating whole foods that fit your preferences. Such as meat and fish, vegetables, fruits, whole grains, healthy fats, and things along those lines. If anything, just focus on foods that have short ingredient lists that you can actually understand. If you can’t pronounce it, you probably shouldn’t eat it. Merely cutting out processed foods and drinking more water will seriously help when you’re figuring out how to get clear skin fast!
Avoid Alcohol
I love drinking for social events or having a glass of wine at the end of the day. It really comes down to trying new things and learning to relax and enjoy the evening. But it should be more of a casual thing. Drinking alcohol on a regular basis can contribute to dehydrating your body. It will make you break out and may even give you dry skin. So I would recommend picking and choosing the times when you really want to enjoy a cold one.
No Smoking
I’m sure you’ve heard all about how bad smoking is for your body, but it also takes a huge toll on your skin. If you have always taken heed to your parents warnings and avoided cigarettes, good for you! But I know quite a few people who smoke all the time. I can understand that a lot of the time they quit, only to pick the habit back up when life gets stressful.
So everyone is different. But if you’re determined to figure out how to get flawless skin or even how to get soft skin. You will want to avoid smoking. It will give your skin a rough texture and dry it out by a serious margin. Honestly, if you’ve ever seen elderly women with dry skin that has a sort of leathery appearance and deep set wrinkles, smoking was probably the culprit.
Sun Protection
I know that this is another thing that you have heard over and over. Stay out of the sun and always apply sunscreen throughout the day. Sun damage is a huge reason for fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin tone and more serious issues like skin cancer. Keeping your skin protected will help avoid unnecessary damage. Even wearing loose long-sleeved clothing is a good idea if you can bear it.
Korean Makeup Products
If you have an Asian skin tone, you might know how hard it is to find the best makeup for fair skin. Their skin tone and texture can be different than other ethnicities in some ways. So sometimes they need different kinds of skin care products. What else were they supposed to do but take their skincare into their own hands? That’s why some of the Korean beauty products are becoming popular everywhere! All because they made the perfect lightweight makeup!
The reason I would recommend Korean makeup to everyone is that they don’t see makeup and skincare as separate things. They add skincare to their beauty products. So a majority of the best Korean foundation is highly moisturizing and has great ingredients. I obviously don’t mean that every makeup product that is made in Korea will work wonders. But the highly recommended brands are a great step towards how to get flawless skin at home!
Top 5 Korean Makeup Recommendations
Primer
Before you even try to put on your foundation, you should apply the Etude House Face Blur primer. It evens out your skin tone, helps with skin texture. It is one of the best steps in how to get flawless makeup!
Foundation
Cushion makeup is an incredibly smart idea for a liquid foundation in convenient packaging. All you do is press a pad into the foundation cushion and apply to your face. It goes on smooth, even, and flawless! A very popular brand is the Etude House Precious Mineral Moist Any Cushion. It includes SPF 50 and is moisturizing. So you don’t have to worry about making your dry skin any worse with makeup!
Next up is the Etude House Double Lasting Foundation. I know I keep listing products from this brand, way to branch out right? But they seem to have some fantastic products. This foundation, in particular, will give you a long lasting, but still lightweight, foundation!
Concealer
Moving away from foundations, I also wanted to give you an option for a concealer. Even if you just need a little to cover up some redness or spots. Or even some bags under your eyes! The Saem Cover Perfection Concealer is a marvelous option.
Finishing Powder
Last but not least in this mini list of some great Korean makeup, is the Skin Food Peach Sake Silky Finishing Powder. It leaves your skin feeling flawless. Even if you apply nothing else and just want to know how to get soft skin, this would be my first recommendation. It will soak up any excess oils on your skin, so if you don’t feel the need to cover any blemishes and just want to get a smooth finish, feel free to only use this!
Unlike their skin routine, Asian beauty seems to promote the idea that less is more when it comes to makeup. But then again, if you use a 10-step beauty routine, what is left to cover up? Their makeup process is all about evening out skin tone. They have a little more fun when it comes to eyes and lips. But typically, you don’t see many Korean Makeup tutorials that include many bronzers or contouring.
Conclusion
When it comes to how to get flawless skin there are a few different kinds of steps you need to take. You need a good routine most of all. Get into good habits when you are washing your face. Make sure you cleanse, moisturize, and tone on a daily basis. At least exfoliate on a weekly basis. Altogether it doesn’t have to be complicated, it just needs to be right for you. If you don’t see the results you were hoping for, you may need to consider switching things up.
But how to get flawless skin doesn’t just come down to a good skin routine. You also need to focus on having a good diet and drinking lots of water. If you aren’t hydrating yourself, you aren’t hydrating your skin. And if you’re putting crappy chemical heavy foods into your body, the chances are that your skin is going to pay the price. So keep that in mind as motivation when you trying to learn how to get flawless skin.
I know that I only listed Korean makeup products in this post. But I was just making a point that they have a lot of great makeup products that we don’t know about. I think we should consider them because they mix skincare with their makeup. Makeup shouldn’t be bad for your skin. It certainly shouldn’t dry out your skin or make things worse.
Either way, I hope these tips and products help you learn how to get flawless skin! Always remember it is an ongoing process and you need to find what works best for you and your skin type. Stick with it and experiment, you’ll have beautiful skin before you know it!
