4 Ways to Replace Coconut Oil with Coconut Milk in Beauty Fixes

April 3, 2017 by Jennifer Scott

If you’re in the least interested in cosmetics and skin care, then you’re probably familiar with the wonders of coconut oil. People use this type of oil for many things, from cooking, to skin care, hair care, and so on. More recently, there’s a new trend involving coconuts, and that’s coconut milk. Coconut milk promises to blow our minds with its hydration benefits, anti-aging properties, cleansing abilities, and extra-soothing properties. If you’re tired of using coconut oil, here are 4 ways to replace coconut oil with coconut milk in terms of beauty products.

Replace Coconut Oil with Coconut Milk in These 4 Beauty Fixes

1. Skin Cleanser

One of the main beauty products which you can make a million times better by using coconut milk is a skin cleanser. Coconut milk contains fatty acids and proteins, which are great for your skin. If you use a cleanser that contains coconut milk (or even wash your face using raw coconut milk), your skin is going to feel tighter, less irritated, more hydrated, and you’ll also help it fight against wrinkles. If you’re dealing with sunburns, a coconut milk cleanser can work wonders for your skin as well. That’s because it’s even more hydrating than coconut oil.

2. Makeup Remover

Coconut oil isn’t the only coconut product that you can use as a makeup remover. Coconut milk is equally as good – if not better – than its predecessor at removing makeup. It’s really gentle and it doesn’t irritate your skin, while also hydrating it. Speaking of hydration, this is particularly important in the eye and lashes area. After using coconut milk as a makeup remover, you will notice your lashes being much stronger and looking a lot healthier. All you have to do to create your own makeup remover is mix coconut oil with coconut milk (in equal amounts). Then, use cotton balls that you leave for about 1 minute on your eyes and remove the makeup.

3. Body Scrub

Since summer is fast approaching, you should get your skin ready for a fabulous tan with a nice natural scrub that smells incredible. Why does it smell incredible, you ask? Well, because it’s made of coconut milk and ginger. The ginger particles are what helps you remove dead skin cells, while the coconut milk helps with hydration. There’s nothing better than the smell of summer on your skin to get you in the mood for summer weather.

4. Hair Conditioner

Maybe this is no longer a surprise, but coconut milk also serves as a great hair conditioner. This is due to the fatty acids it contains. If your hair is extremely dry and damaged, and you need a solution that acts fast, coconut milk should be your go-to product. It makes your hair shinier, healthier, and stronger, while also taking good care of your scalp. It provides the scalp with a refreshing sensation that will make you feel as if you’re relaxing at the spa. Plus, it encourages hair growth as well. Mix coconut milk with avocado and leave it on your hair for 20 minutes.

The next time you want to use a coconut-based product for beauty-related purposes, try replacing coconut oil with coconut milk and enjoy the hydrating and refreshing feeling.
