3 Healthy Salad Recipes for Weight Loss to Try this Summer

What’s the first meal that comes into your mind when you hear the words weight loss or diet? Exactly, a salad. But not just any kind of salad. One that needs to be tasty, pretty, and most importantly, keep you full for a few hours. That’s the trick after all, right? To avoid eating all kinds of junk and unhealthy food so that we can shed some of those extra pounds. But when it comes to choosing or making the best salad, the options are endless and the whole thing becomes a struggle. Which is why, in this article, we will show you some healthy salad recipes for weight loss that you can try this summer.
These salads are all packed-full of nutrients, which is why they will most certainly keep your hunger under control. All while helping you meet and maintain your ideal weight goal for this summer (and not only). Moreover, if you feel like you need a little bit more protein, feel free t add some of your favorite meat to the recipes that don’t already contain it: salmon or chicken breast. Here are some pretty, tasty and healthy salad recipes for weight loss. Enjoy!

1. Nicoise salad

You may have heard about the famous Nicoise salad, but if you haven’t, just try it and you will surely like it. You first need to start by boiling two large cubed red potatoes until they are tender. In that same saucepan, towards the end, add some green beans too. The next step is to drain both the potatoes and the beans. Immediately after, drop them into ice water, then drain and finally, pat dry them. Next, combine in a small bowl the dressing: oil, vinegar, lemon peel, and pepper. Then, using romaine salad, arrange your salad as you like. Put the potatoes and the green beans over the salad, along with boiled eggs, tuna and some tomatoes. Voila!

2. Chicken and romaine salad

The first step for this second healthy salad is similar with that of the Nicoise. Boil some cubed red potatoes until they’re tender. Then, in a small bowl, mix your dressing: mustard, vinegar, onion, seasonings and fresh lemon juice. Finally, in a large bowl, assemble your salad. Put your romaine salad in, chicken breast, celery, and the potatoes. Add a lot of dressing over it and top with bacon stripes. Tasty and very pretty too!

3. Chickpea and sweet potato salad

You should first start by coating your sweet potatoes with oil, salt, and pepper by tossing them in a large bowl. Then, roast them in a baking pan until they’re tender. Then, in another large bowl, take your salad mix. Combine garbanzo beans and the sweet potatoes and put them over too. Your dressing, consisting of rice vinegar, olive oil, minced clove and gingerroot, salt and pepper, will also go over the entire mix. Finally, top with some crumbled feta cheese and serve!
