#1 Lemon Juice
The Vitamin C is lemon juice, as well as other specific compounds, break down the melanin pigment in your skin. Therefore, you can get lighten the grown patches that are bugging you. There are three treatments you can attempt using lemon:
- Simple: Simply press a slice of lemon against your skin for 30 minutes.
- With Sugar: Stir in 2-3 tablespoons of sugar in some lemon juice until you get a consistent paste that you can use as a scrub.
- With Sugar and Honey: Make it the same way as the previous method, the only exception being the inclusion of two tablespoons of honey. This is for people with dry skin.
In all cases, let the treatment sit for 30 minutes before rinsing off. Avoid direct sunlight contact immediately after, as some believe lemon and sunlight don’t really go well together.
#2 Apple Cider Vinegar
Dilute some apple cider vinegar with an equal amount of water. Using a cotton ball or a brush, apply the solution to your brown spots and keep on for a few minutes. Wash off with lukewarm water and dab skin with a clean towel. You can repeat this process for an established number of days, once daily, or indefinitely until you start seeing results.
#3 Tropical Fruits
More specifically, papaya and pineapple.
To create a papaya mask, you need to mash some papaya pulp until it becomes relatively even and lump-less. You can make it smoother by using a hand mixer. Using a cotton swab, a makeup brush, or whatever else tool you find handy, apply the mixture to your face as a mask. Leave it sit until it dries off and then rinse away.
For the pineapple, you can either use juice or turn it into a mask as well. If you want the pineapple juice remedy to work, you’ll need to double-check that it’s wholly organic. In other words, make sure that there aren’t any sugary additions to it. Using a cotton swab or a pad, gently dab to your affected skin areas and leave it be until it dries off completely. Alternatively, slice some pineapple pieces and then mash them into a paste. Paste over your face and keep on until it dries off.
