Today we will learn together how to make your hair stronger only with the help of natural remedies. We chose this approach simply because we give our bodies enough chemicals already.

If experience and science taught us anything, that is the fact that nature is incredibly generous with us. It offers us dozens of healthy solutions to help us handle many health problems.

When it comes to hair loss, there are, of course, anti-hair loss true-and-tested shampoos and treatments, but we discussed them on previous occasions.

However, today we will focus on how to make your hair stronger and thicker with the help of natural products.

Many recipes are delicious enough to turn in your next favorite dessert, but let us use the following remedies to strengthen your hair and keep it healthy!

how to make your hair stronger avocado masks

Avocado is a superfood containing only healthy fats, no sugar, and essential vitamins like B and E. When you use avocado for hair care, you will moisturize your scalp, feed the roots with nutrients, and protect your scalp and hair against dandruff.

Avocado masks and avocado oil helps you fix brittle hair, promotes hair growth and hair thickness, and prevent hair loss.

Avocado and Wheatgerm Oil Hair Mask

  • Mash ½ ripe avocado with two tablespoons of wheat germ oil
  • Apply the paste on your scalp and hair and let it sit for 20 minutes
  • Rinse well with warm water, and then shampoo your hair.

2. Olive Oil

olive oil to make your hair stronger

Olive oil is a natural remedy for plenty of hair, nail, and skin conditions. Chefs love it in dishes, while beauty experts love it in masks and homemade recipes.

You cannot ignore olive oil for hair strengthening: it is a perfect natural moisturizer, containing all the good fatty acids in the world.

It helps you soften and strengthen your tresses, while its antioxidant effect keeps your hair and scalp in perfect health (allowing better hair growth, rejuvenating your strands from the root to the ends etc.)

Olive oil is a very rich source of nutrients, moisturizing the scalp and getting rid of the dry and flaky skin. It also has antibacterial and antifungal properties.

You can combine it with plenty of other natural ingredients to create excellent hair treatments: avocado, eggs, honey, other essential oils, and so on.

Olive Oil and Honey Hair Mask

RECIPE:

  • Mix 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil with 2-3 tablespoons of raw natural honey.
  • Apply the paste on your scalp and hair, and then leave for around 30 minutes.
  • Rinse with warm water

NOTE: Apply this treatment once or twice a week. Olive oil and honey have both healing properties, thus leaving your scalp in perfect shape and your hair thicker.

3. Castor Oil

castor oil to make your hair stronger

Castor oil is one of the superstars of the natural cosmetic industry. If you really want to learn how to make your hair roots stronger, then it is time to focus on castor oil.

Its main ingredient is the ricinoleic acid – the secret weapon against hair loss. Castor oil is rich in vitamins A, E, and B – all essential for our general health, hair, skin, and nails – and in the good fatty acids that we love so much.

The use of castor oil is probably one of the easiest and fastest ways to get thicker, stronger hair. It has a thick density, and this viscosity is the one protecting your scalp and hair. It simply promotes hair growth due to the punch of vitamins and minerals it packs.

People usually mix castor oil with other oils, as the former is a bit too thick to work with.

Castor Oil and Aloe Vera Hair Growth Gel

RECIPE:

  • In a bowl, mix 4 tablespoons of Aloe Vera gel with 1 teaspoon of castor oil and 8 drops of lavender essential oil.
  • Mix the paste until smooth and apply on your scalp and hair, massaging in circular moves.
  • Let the paste sit for 30 minutes, and then rinse with warm water.

NOTE: If you have dandruff, itchy or inflamed scalp and you want significant hair growth, use this hair mask (and do not forget about the scalp massage) at least once a week. The effect is cooling, healing, and nourishing.

4. Coconut Oil

coconut oil for strong hair

If you happened to ask someone how to make your hair stronger and healthier, his or her answer probably was “coconut oil”.

Coconut oil is among the best natural remedies and enhancers for hair, skin, and nails. Coconut oil contains a special ingredient: lauric acid. It supports hormone health and cellular health.

This beneficial property of coconut oil is also one of the reasons it can help prevent protein loss in hair in some people.

Moreover, coconut oil’s structure allows it to penetrate hair better than other oils, thus leading to faster and more visible results.

One important issue you need to know about coconut oil is that it works great when mixed with other oils, as the ingredients activate each other.

Coconut oil also has anti-fungal properties, offering dandruff relief and scalp health.

Coconut Oil, Banana and Honey Hair Mask

RECIPE:

  • In a bowl, mash and mix one ripe banana, one teaspoon of coconut oil and one tablespoon of raw honey.
  • Apply the paste to your scalp and hair; give it a gentle massage, and then let it sit for 20 minutes.
  • Rinse with warm water.

NOTE: This mask is amazing if you want to soothe itchy, flaky scalp and promote hair growth. Use this mask at least once a week.

You have to keep in mind that coconut oil does not work well on all types of hair. For you to make the best use of coconut oil for hair, you need to learn how to make coconut oil work.

5. Tea Tree Oil

tea tree oil for hair

One may find it counterintuitive to put so many oils in your hair, especially if you have oily skin or hair, but you need to look beyond the obvious.

Tea tree oil, like many other essential oils, has a powerful soothing effect, mixed with nourishing and healing properties.

In other words, tea tree oil makes your hair smooth, thicker, stronger, and more resilient to environmental factors.

Tea tree oil works great for flaky, itchy, dry scalp and brittle hair. It unclogs pores and removes bacteria.

Coconut and Tea Tree Oil Hair Solution

RECIPE:

  • In a small bowl, mix 10 drops of tea tree oil with one tablespoon of organic, unrefined coconut oil
  • Apply the paste on your scalp (but not on your hair) and massage your scalp well, insisting on the itchy, inflamed, dandruff-prone areas of your head.
  • Let the mixture sit on your scalp for one hour
  • Rinse well, use your regular shampoo and finish with a good conditioner

NOTE: Follow this treatment at least once a week to get rid of the bacteria and fungi causing dandruff and uncomfortable scalp. The solution is also excellent to promote root strengthening and hair growth.

6. Eggs

eggs for strong hair

Eggs are amazing for our health no matter if we eat them or put them in cosmetic and beauty remedies and treatments.

Packing a strong punch of protein and minerals, eggs are essential to hair growth and strength.

Egg-based hair treatments have plenty of benefits: they promote hair regeneration and growth; they cleanse and purify hair follicles, they help you fight against dandruff and oily scalp.

Egg masks make your hair easier to style, more voluminous, and glowing with health.

Egg and Castor Oil Hair Growth Mask

RECIPE:

  • Beat two eggs in a blender and add a teaspoon of castor oil; beat until you get a smooth creamy paste
  • Apply the paste on your scalp and hair, massage well, and spread the mixture on your hair with a brush
  • Let the paste sit on your head for 30 minutes (cover with a shower cap for better results)
  • Rinse with warm water and use your regular shampoo; do not use a conditioner

NOTE: Repeat this treatment at least once a week to promote hair growth and strength.

7. Essential Oils

essential oils for strong hair

Essential oils and natural plant extracts are nature’s miraculous ways of treating our hair and help it grow thick, strong, lush, healthy, and glowing.

Lavender oil, peppermint oil, jojoba oil, argan oil, rosemary oil, basil oil, safflower oil, cedarwood oil, and more – they are the essential ingredients to create hair growth serums.

These oils are usually used because they offer a soothing effect on the scalp, relieving you from itchiness and inflammation.

Many such oils also promote hair growth, protect your hair from coloring damages, control and balance the sebum production, work as moisturizers, and help you fight against dandruff.

Argan Oil, Coconut Oil, and Rosemary Oil Hair Serum

RECIPE:

  • Mix two tablespoons of coconut oil with ten drops of argan oil and three drops of rosemary oil
  • Apply the mixture on your scalp and hair and cover your head with a shower cap
  • Let it sit for an hour
  • Rinse and shampoo as you normally do

NOTE: Repeat this serum treatment once a week to get voluminous, shining, strong hair.

We have three more DIY hair serums recipes based on essential oils, and each of them has amazing effects on your hair’s health and strength!
