It’s essential to feed your body with healthy, nutritious food especially when you’re trying to lose weight. However, when it comes to food that is best for a good diet and weight loss, it’s better to have a full spectrum of vitamins, nutrients, and minerals rather than having one sole food item, vitamin, or nutrient in your diet.

The most important thing to keep in mind is to be healthy during the weight loss process. Skipping meals, crash diets, weight loss pills do provide the result you want in no time. However, it may also result into gaining back the weight with another extra 10 or 20 lbs. Either that or, it may give your health issues in the long run.

A healthy eating habit will not just help you lose weight; it can also help maintain the weight loss and will give you healthy glowing skin. Eating the right kind of food will heal your organs and make them function properly. Thus, the proof of a healthy looking you.

With that being said, here are six fruits that will help you shed off some weight:

Apple

This fruit is packed with vitamins, and nutrients like fiber and vitamin C. Researchers have highlighted the facts about apple related to weight loss. This red, round, and juicy fruit are high in fiber and polyphenol. With these two components mixed, it will stimulate weight loss and keeps the bacteria in our digestive system healthy. It reduces chronic inflammation which is the potential result of weight gain.

The apple fruit had been noted to lower the risk of various heart diseases. It is also linked to reducing the chances of both types of diabetes. Another thing that’s great about apples, and probably one of the more unusual, is that it contains a particular compound that can fight and get rid of asthma.

The apple skin contains a flavonoid known as quercetin which helps regulate and maintain the immune system and reduce inflammation. Therefore, it is safe to say that it is a fruit that can keep a doctor away.

Berries

Raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, you name it! Berries are very low in sugar and extremely high in fiber. These superfoods can speed up metabolism and encourage weight loss. Some examples are blueberries, and this berry can help reduce appetite while goji berries can control blood sugar levels. Both of these berries have a good chunk of fiber in them making them very healthy. Regardless, a diet with lots of fiber in it can stimulate weight loss.

Citrus Fruits

Citrus fruits were the jewels of Asia for over 4,000 years. But in the modern ages, you can get these refreshing, juicy, and delicious fruits all year round of all seasons no matter what time of the year in almost every grocery store or supermarket all over the world. These fruits can decrease your appetite due to their water and fiber content. Fruits with high water and high fiber fill your stomach up, and it takes longer to digest. With this, it will help you to remain and maintain a sense of fullness.

Citrus fruits also help you in losing weight by giving you flavor without the extra calories. Adding lemon juice to your poached fish or fish fillet is a classic way of presenting or adding flavor to your food.  You can also use orange juice to make a glaze for pork chops or ribs and using slices of fresh lime to make a refreshing fruity Granita.

fruit

Bananas

These curved yellow fruits are loaded with all types and assortments of vitamins and nutrients while also giving you the energy you need to start your day. This fruit also contains a lot of fiber but is very low in calories which are around 105 calories for a medium-sized banana. Bananas have so much fiber that the high fiber intake can reduce the risks of heart disease, diverticular disease, and even some forms of cancer. And eating an adequate amount of fiber is also linked to weight loss.

Also depending on the ripeness of the banana, it can be high in resistant starches. The greener the banana the higher the resistant starches are. While the more ripened the banana, the higher in sugar it will be. Resistant starch can slow down the absorption of sugars, and this will keep your blood sugar levels even and balanced. Furthermore, the resistant starches may also help in reducing and burning fat.

Bananas, also, have a low glycemic index, but it also depends on the ripeness of the yellow fruit. In this case, the riper the banana, the higher the glycemic index is and the greener it is the lower the GI is. However, the average glycemic index scores of bananas are from forty-two GI to sixty-two GI which is considered low to medium on the glycemic index scale still depending on the ripeness of the banana.

Pomegranate Seeds

Pomegranates are a bit of an unconventional fruit. You can’t just quickly eat them on your way to work or during your casually walk down the street. But whether you go for the arils, the seeds, or the juice, you get the full blast of the vitamins K, C, B and a lot of antioxidants, so it’s worth slicing one open. Pomegranates have a lot of benefits to it, and some examples have reduced the risk of cancer, it increases heart health, keeps your immune system up, and even sharpens your memory. And since pomegranates have a lot of fiber content in them, this fruit can also decrease your appetite and make you feel full easily; so you consume fewer calories than you did before if you continually eat pomegranates.

Avocados

Avocados are a unique fruit since this fruit is packed with healthy fats and protein that you find in nuts, seeds, and carbs with less calories. Researchers show that eating avocados can shrink your belly fat along with the decreasing of bad cholesterol. Studies even show that if you add half an avocado to your lunch a day, every day, it proves that you can decrease snacking after a meal by forty percent. You can even feel satisfied even five hours after the last time you ate.

The Whole Broad Spectrum

In the end, it is also imperative to have a well-balanced diet to achieve your goal to lose weight and to stay healthy. You should also make sure to get plenty of exercises, whether if it is running, swimming, biking, etc. You should drink plenty of water since this is another factor that promotes weight loss. I wish you the best of luck in losing weight this summer!
