When I say beat the summer heat, one of the things, which come to our mind is Watermelon. Watermelon is a cool fruit which is refreshing and delicious and it helps us a lot to fight the summer heat. It consists of more than 90% water and keeps ourselves cool and hydrated.
There are a lot of other health benefits associated with this wonderful fruit. Before going into the details, let’s address the common question, does watermelon decay very quickly, I would say watermelon stay fresh at 13 degrees Celsius for over two weeks, but refrigerated ones can stay fresh only for a week or so.
All the parts of watermelons are edible and can be consumed as such or can be included as the main ingredient in salads and soups. Remember, when you cut watermelon into pieces and refrigerate, it’s always better to give it some time to come to room temperature and then have the slices to retain the nutritional value.
