I love cooking and trying new recipes. Anything you can make can be made so many different ways and I enjoy trying new things. There are so many new flavors taste and great recipe ideas out there!

Not long ago me and my husband were on a little bit of a burger binge. I would make them for dinner a lot.

He was obsessed with the sunrise burger. It’s a juicy, lightly seasoned burger, topped with a sunny side up egg and whatever toppings you want.

The first one he had was at Red Robin. Although, I don’t know if they called it the same thing.

I loved a sriracha burger I had and decided to recreate it myself.

The issue was, when I decided to make it, I had sriracha and mayo to make the sauce but it seemed like I had to use a ton of sriracha to get it to taste just the way I wanted it.

At the time I had no idea they actually made sriracha mayo already bottled up and ready to go!

So when I started working on our list of the 10 Best Sriracha Mayo To Try Right Now it was a bit of a revelation.

Now I just need to find the right one for my burger masterpiece! A really popular one I was thinking of getting for myself is called Lee Kum Kee Sriracha Mayo. Everyone was saying this is a great product that’s good with just about everything and I was thinking of trying it out.

Things to Consider When Trying Lee Kum Kee Sriracha Mayo

When looking into a new product I like to look into the various details. In this case I want to know the flavor, quality, how good the ingredients are and so on.

When dealing with food it’s a little hard to know how good it is until you taste it yourself. But I’m hoping this will help narrow it down!

Taste: This product has a mild spice, nothing over the top or too spicy. It is really flavorful and has a thin but creamy consistency, similar to a normal sriracha or a dressing.

Ingredients: Lee Kum Kee isn’t made with natural ingredients. But it is a delicious mix of mayo, chili sauce and garlic. Those give it incredible flavor!

Quality: I like this product a lot. It’s creamy, comes in an easy to squeeze container and is made with good ingredients for an off the shelf product. It isn’t the best you’re going to find, but I suppose they can’t all be the best!

Uses: Sriracha mayo can be used on so many different foods and will taste great. It adds wonderful flavor! I want to use it on burgers, but why stop there? You could even dip your fries into it, put it on a salad or add it to just about any kind of pasta or potato salad. Pretty much whatever you can think of!

Drawbacks: Unfortunately most of the complaints about this product has to do with the fact that it doesn’t ship well. There were a few different people who were pretty upset when they got this in the mail and it was dramatically separated and clumpy.

Even when they shook it to mix it up, there were still a lot of chunks.

So this either had to with it getting hot during shipping or maybe it was old before they got it. But most people checked the dates and it was still within the shelf date.

My main recommendation here is to just get it in store if you can. Keep in mind you could still order it online, but I might pay the extra for fast shipping if possible!

Who Should Buy This Product

Lee Kum Kee is a great product if you want something affordable to add a little spice to your meal! It has the consistency of a dressing so you can drizzle it on just about anything. It has so many uses and is super creamy.

It is also really great if you want something that has more flavor than spice. I like spice personally but I know a lot of people who aren’t that fond of spicy food. This would be a great option for them!

Lee Kum Kee Sriracha Mayo

Lee Kum Kee is reasonably priced for a larger bottle of 15oz.

It is well loved for its flavor and variety of uses.

It comes in a large squeeze bottle just like sriracha would.

That makes it really easy to drizzle on your food without a mess.

I think this is great because I always get the other squeeze bottles messy and it can be so hard to get mayo out of the bottom of the jar!

It can be used as a condiment or a marinade.

This is the first sriracha mayo I have seen advertised as a marinade too. It is a great idea!

Overall it is a delicious blend of mayo, chili sauce and garlic that will taste great on just about everything.

Pros

  • Mild spice and plenty of flavor
  • Can be used on any dish
  • Can be used as a condiment or a marinade

Cons

  • Does not always ship well
  • Not very diet friendly

Features and Benefits

When it comes to the different products I review, I like to point out the best features. This makes it pretty easy to decide whether you want to try it if you’re in a rush.

If you’d like to learn more about this product in particular, feel free to browse my list of benefits!

It is creamy and similar to a dressing and comes in the same kind of bottle as sriracha. It’s pretty easy to see it has to be a very thin and light product to use this bottle and it is. It is very creamy and perfect to drizzle onto your food easily.

This sriracha mayo has a very mild spice to it. This is nice if you are more interested in flavor than spice. My grandmother can barely eat mild pepper jack without being totally beside herself with how spicy it is. This would be a great recommendation for me to give her!

This product can be used as both a topping or a marinade. I haven’t seen this suggested before but what a great idea!

This might be especially good for marinating fish, as odd as that might sound. By marinating fish in milk or mayo overnight, you can actually pull the really strong seafood flavor out of fish if you don’t particularly like it. This would both take away flavor you don’t want and add some flavor you like!

  • If you love adding a little spice to your food this is great, it can be used on just about anything! I would recommend it for sandwiches especially!
  • If you are interested in buying things made in the USA this is a great option! My dad likes buying things made in the USA. It’s a nice way of supporting local businesses.
  • Personally, I really like the twist cap bottles that sriracha comes in. I know I mentioned this already, but it makes it easy to add it to your food without a mess like you can get with ketchup bottles and others that are similar.

FAQs

1. What Is Lee Kum Kee Sriracha Mayo?

Lee Kum Kee Sriracha Mayo is essentially a spicy mayonnaise made by combining mayonnaise with Sriracha chilli sauce.

The European version contains 85% mayonnaise and 15% Sriracha chilli sauce. The mayonnaise is made with either canola or soybean oil, pasteurised egg yolk, vinegar, sugar, lemon juice concentrate and mustard, while the Sriracha component contains red chilli peppers, vinegar, garlic, sugar and chilli powder.

It’s sold in a 445ml bottle, so you’re getting a decent amount for a sauce that can be used in lots of different ways.

One thing I particularly like about Sriracha mayo is that it doesn’t require any cooking.

Open the bottle, squeeze and eat.

It really is that simple.

2. What Does Lee Kum Kee Sriracha Mayo Taste Like?

The first thing I notice is the creaminess.

It’s definitely mayonnaise at heart, but the Sriracha gives it a noticeable chilli kick, along with acidity, sweetness and garlic.

I wouldn’t describe the flavour as overwhelmingly hot.

Instead, it’s the combination of creamy mayonnaise and spicy chilli that makes it interesting.

The chilli brings warmth, while the vinegar and lemon provide some tanginess. There’s also a subtle sweetness that stops the sauce from tasting harsh.

The garlic is particularly welcome because it gives the Sriracha element more character.

Overall, I’d describe the flavour as:

Creamy + spicy + tangy + slightly sweet + garlicky.

And that makes it remarkably versatile.

3. How Spicy Is It?

If you love seriously hot sauces, this probably isn’t going to blow your head off.

It’s more of a medium spicy condiment than an extreme chilli sauce.

That’s actually one of the reasons I like it.

I can use a generous amount without turning my meal into a chilli-eating challenge.

The Sriracha provides enough heat to make itself known, but the mayonnaise softens the intensity.

If you don’t normally enjoy very hot foods, I’d still start with a small amount.

If you’re a dedicated chilli fan, you’ll probably find it pleasantly spicy rather than fiery.

4. Is It Creamy?

Yes, and that’s one of its biggest attractions.

The mayonnaise base gives the sauce a smooth, rich texture that contrasts nicely with the sharpness of the chilli.

It’s thick enough to spread onto bread or burgers, but also easy enough to drizzle over food.

That’s important because I don’t want a spicy mayo that behaves like a solid paste.

I want something I can squeeze exactly where I need it.

5. What Can You Use It For?

This is where I think Lee Kum Kee Sriracha Mayo really earns its place.

The obvious uses are:

Burgers
Sandwiches
Wraps
Fries
Potato wedges
Chicken nuggets
Sushi
Poke bowls
Fried chicken
Fish
Seafood
Salads
Tacos
Rice bowls
Vegetables

Lee Kum Kee itself suggests using it as a dip for chips and nuggets and as a burger sauce.

I’d also drizzle it over roasted vegetables or use it as a dipping sauce for sweet potato fries.

And if you’ve ever made homemade sushi bowls, spicy mayo is almost mandatory!

6. Is It Good With Burgers?

Absolutely.

If you’ve got a burger that needs a little extra excitement, Sriracha mayo can make a huge difference.

The creamy texture works particularly well with beef, chicken and crispy chicken burgers.

I especially like the idea of combining it with:

Burger + lettuce + tomato + crispy onions + Sriracha mayo.

The creamy sauce balances the crunch and adds a little heat without overwhelming everything else.

7. Is It Good With Fries?

This might be one of my favourite uses.

Plain mayonnaise is lovely with chips, but Sriracha mayo adds another dimension.

You get the familiar creamy dip followed by chilli heat and acidity.

It’s particularly good with:

French fries
Sweet potato fries
Potato wedges
Crispy roast potatoes
Loaded fries

If you’re making homemade chips, I’d definitely put a little bowl of Sriracha mayo on the table.

8. What About Sushi?

This is another natural pairing.

Sriracha mayo is excellent with sushi, poke bowls and other dishes where you want a creamy spicy element.

Try drizzling a little over:

California rolls
Salmon sushi
Prawn sushi
Poke bowls
Rice bowls
Crispy tofu

I’d avoid going overboard because the sauce can easily dominate delicate seafood.

A drizzle is usually enough.

9. Is It Good With Chicken?

Yes!

I think chicken is one of the easiest foods to pair with Sriracha mayo.

It’s particularly good with crispy chicken because the creamy sauce contrasts with the crunchy coating.

I’d happily use it with:

Chicken wraps

Chicken burgers

Chicken nuggets

Fried chicken

Grilled chicken

Chicken sandwiches

It can also make leftover chicken considerably more interesting.

10. Could You Use It as a Salad Dressing?

You can, although it’s quite rich on its own.

For a lighter dressing, I’d thin it with a little lime juice, lemon juice or rice vinegar.

You could also add a small amount of water until you reach your preferred consistency.

That gives you a creamy, spicy dressing that’s particularly good with crunchy salads.

I think it would work brilliantly with cabbage, carrot, cucumber and spring onions.

11. How Does It Compare With Making Your Own Sriracha Mayo?

This is an interesting question because homemade Sriracha mayo is incredibly easy.

All you really need is:

Mayonnaise + Sriracha.

Mix them together and you’ve got spicy mayo.

So why buy it ready-made?

For me, it’s about convenience and consistency.

The bottle is ready whenever I need it, and I don’t have to decide how much mayonnaise and Sriracha to mix.

The downside is that homemade gives you complete control.

You can make it:

Hotter
Milder
More garlicky
More acidic
Sweeter
Creamier

You can even use different types of mayonnaise.

So if you’re a keen cook, homemade is definitely worth trying.

But if you want something quick, Lee Kum Kee saves you the extra step.

12. What’s in the Ingredients?

The current European formula is worth looking at.

Lee Kum Kee lists the product as containing 85% mayonnaise and 15% Sriracha chilli sauce. The mayonnaise contains oil, egg yolk, water, vinegar, salt, sugar, lemon juice concentrate and mustard seeds. The Sriracha includes red chilli, vinegar, sugar, garlic and red chilli powder.

It also contains preservatives and other functional ingredients to help maintain the product’s stability and flavour.

If you’re looking for an ultra-short ingredient list made from only a handful of kitchen ingredients, this isn’t that type of product.

It’s a commercially produced condiment.

That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it’s worth knowing what you’re buying.

13. What About Allergens?

The European product information lists soybeans, eggs and mustard as allergens.

If you have a food allergy, always check the packaging of the specific bottle you’re purchasing rather than relying solely on an online ingredient list.

That’s particularly important because formulations can vary between countries.

Interestingly, the US version has a different published ingredient list and is described by Lee Kum Kee as being made with cage-free eggs, so it’s worth checking the regional label.

14. Is It Vegetarian?

The ingredient list doesn’t contain meat or fish, but if you’re following a specific vegetarian or vegan diet, I’d check the packaging and manufacturer’s current product information before buying.

It does contain egg, so it is not vegan.

15. Is Lee Kum Kee Sriracha Mayo Gluten-Free?

The US foodservice product page currently labels its Sriracha Mayo as gluten-free.

However, because I’m reviewing the European product here, I’d still recommend checking the specific bottle’s label if you’re medically required to avoid gluten.

Regional formulations and labelling can differ.

16. Is It Too Salty?

Like many prepared sauces, I’d treat Sriracha mayo as a condiment rather than a food that needs to be eaten in large quantities.

A little can add a lot of flavour.

That’s another reason I like using it as a drizzle rather than drowning my food in it.

If you’re watching your sodium intake, check the nutrition information on the bottle you’re buying and take your overall diet into account.

17. Is It Good Value?

That depends rather heavily on where you buy it.

The current online shopping results I found show the 445ml bottle available through UK-facing sellers, although prices vary considerably. The product search result currently shows one listing around £15.20, which I’d consider expensive for a bottle of spicy mayo. Lee Kum Kee Sriracha Mayo

At that sort of price, I’d probably make my own.

If you can find it at a more typical supermarket or Asian grocery price, though, I think the convenience becomes much more appealing.

For me, the ideal price is one where I can buy a bottle without feeling that I’m paying a premium simply for having mayonnaise and Sriracha already mixed together.

Pros and Cons

What I Like

Creamy and spicy: It has a good balance between mayonnaise richness and Sriracha heat.

Garlicky flavour: The garlic adds extra depth.

Very versatile: Excellent with burgers, chips, chicken, sushi and wraps.

Easy to use: No mixing required.

Good texture: Smooth enough to drizzle or spread.

Moderate heat: Spicy enough to be interesting without being painfully hot.

Large bottle: The 445ml size is useful if you’re someone who goes through sauces quickly.

What I Don’t Like

Not extremely spicy: Serious chilli lovers may want more heat.

Commercial ingredient list: It’s not the minimalist homemade option.

Can be rich: It’s mayonnaise-based, so a little can go a long way.

Price varies enormously: Some current USA listings are quite expensive.

Homemade is incredibly easy: If you already have mayonnaise and Sriracha, you can make your own in seconds.

My Favourite Ways to Eat It

If I had a bottle sitting in the fridge, these are the first things I’d reach for.

Crispy Chicken Wrap

Crispy chicken, lettuce, cucumber, shredded carrot and Sriracha mayo wrapped in a tortilla.

Simple but delicious.

Spicy Burger

Beef burger, cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles and Sriracha mayo.

The sauce works beautifully with the richness of the burger.

Loaded Sweet Potato Fries

Sweet potato fries topped with shredded chicken, spring onions and a drizzle of Sriracha mayo.

Now we’re talking!

Sushi Bowl

Rice, salmon, avocado, cucumber, edamame and Sriracha mayo.

It’s an easy way to get all those sushi flavours without having to make actual sushi.

Spicy Egg Sandwich

Boiled or fried egg, lettuce, tomato and Sriracha mayo on toasted bread.

It’s ridiculously simple and surprisingly good.

Conclusion

Lee Kum Kee Sriracha Mayo is definitely one I’d like to try. I’m interested in the flavor and like the idea that it was made by not just whipping together some sriracha and mayo.

Instead it is a great blend of mayo chili sauce and garlic.

The cayenne pepper in chili sauce gives it just the right amount of spice while the mayo tones that down.

The garlic is a wonderful added flavor that helps set it apart a little.

The consistency of this product is similar to a dressing so I think it would be perfect for dipping. In my case, I’d love to see how it tastes on a cheeseburger!

Overall this is a great product and it made for a lot of happy customer. I don’t think I would say it is a bulletproof product.

Whether or not you really like it will depend on the favor you are looking for. It isn’t vegan, all natural or made with high quality ingredients.

It also is very high in sodium and has more cholesterol than I normally see.

I still think this is a fantastic product and I would buy it. If you are also interested in getting Lee Kum Kee Sriracha Mayo for yourself, you can find it online on Amazon or search for it in a store near you!
