There have probably been countless times when you wanted a spa-like pedicure so bad that you almost craved it. Unfortunately, spas have their special tools which make you relaxed and your nails beautiful. However, it can cost a lot and usually, you don’t have the necessary time to regularly enjoy a real spa pedicure. Thankfully, you can also replicate this process in the comfort of your own home. You can treat yourself to a spa-like pedicure without spending so much money and doing it in your own rhythm. In this article, we will show you how to get a spa pedicure at home.

It’ important to know that you don’t need too many tools to pamper your feet and those you really need you can easily find either in your home or at the nearest store. A foot soak, a rejuvenating scrub, and your favorite nail polish can be everything you need to feel amazing. Doing it carefully and taking your time means that you might end up with a spa-worthy pedicure, minus the extra cost, effort, time spent, and sometimes, stress. So, here are some steps that you need to follow if you want to achieve a spa pedicure at home. Enjoy!

1. Cutting and filing your nails

You need to start with relaxed, clean feet and to make sure that you don’t have any old nail polish on your nails. Now, it’s time for a trim using the best nail-clippers that you own. The perfect length is when your nail doesn’t extend over the tip of your toe. Be careful not to clip the nails’ sides, as this might make them ingrown. Then file your nails in whatever direction you like to obtain the desired shape. Also, try to avoid metal files because they can be too harsh and rip your nails.

2.  Soaking the feet

For this step, you’ll need to fill a large bowl with lukewarm water and add your favorite salts and aromatherapy oils in. Soak your feet in there for about 10 minutes. This will prepare the skin for the next steps. The more cracked your feet are, the more time you should spend soaking them. Professionals also add a little bit of milk in the water because the lactic acid has the property to loosen dead skin.

3.  Taking care of cuticles

Now, the first thing that you need to do is to apply cuticle remover and rub it in. It also works with olive oil. Then, with a cuticle pusher (or orangewood stick), start pushing using a circular motion. You can also cut them using clippers, but it’s better not to do this at home.

4. Scrubbing and moisturizing

For this step, you will either need a pumice stone or a foot file to remove any dead skin on your feet. You need first to apply a scrub to the pumice stone and scrub all around the foot. Finally, add a good moisturizer and massage your feet. You can now apply nail polish again, or you can leave your nails to breathe.

In conclusion
