I have always made it a habit of looking into all the different features of a product before buying it. This is a great way to knowing what you are actually going to get out of the product.
I don’t like having super high expectations because a single person told me it was the best thing they’d ever used.
While it is great for the person who gave me the recommendation, I still like to know what more people said about it and break down the product and all its features. So here are the things I found in my research!
Technology:
- This is small, compact and simple.
- It has the barrel width of 1 inch and a length of about 4 inches.
- The handle is small, making the total length of the whole product about 10 inches.
- It has an high, low and off switch. It also has a cord with a 360° swivel action that makes it easier to use.
- Last, but certainly not least, it has the same ceramic tourmaline coated barrel that all the most popular products have now!
Efficiency:
- It heats up quickly and is a wonderful travel item. It is so small and easy to pack!
Type of Hair:
- This only has the temperature setting of “low and high.”
- I have no idea what temperature “low” is supposed to be, but high is 350°F.
- This makes it good for normal and thick types of hair.
- It would be great for thin hair because it is so small, but I have no idea how damaging it might be.
I would recommend that you don’t hold it on your hair for long and always using heat protectant.
Multiple Hair Benefits:
- This is made with negative ion technology. It is the same thing most new products are made of.
- It is wonderful because it heats evenly.
- It also smooths your hair as it curls. It even adds some extra shine!
I think the best part about this is that it actually reduces static and frizz!
Curling Process:
I watched a few videos to figure out the best way to use such a little curling iron and found some great results.
A woman started by spraying her hair with heat protectant and sectioning out her hair.
Then she took a small section and clamped in the middle of the section.
Then she curled, held for about 5-8 seconds and proceeded to slide the curling iron down almost to the tips, curling up again. When she released, the whole section was curled!
It was super easy and I think that would probably be the best way to use this mini iron!
Design Flaw:
- The perk is also a bit of a downfall here. It is small, which makes it super easy to travel with or pop in your purse.
- But being so little makes it hard to use and there isn’t much room for my favorite features.
- There isn’t a lot of heat control, auto shut off and it takes longer to do your hair.
Who Should Buy This Product
If you travel a lot and want to be able to fit a curling iron in your bag easily, this is a cool little product! It would even fit in your purse!
Personally, I would have loved to have this after some of the long days I pulled at my old job. I would work weekends and afterwards I would go out afterwards. There were plenty of times I curled my hair the night before so I wouldn’t have to do it in the morning.
Sleeping on my hair and then working all day definitely made me wish I could do a quick touch up. This would have been so great to have then! If you have ever had the same problems I’m sure you can relate!
Who Shouldn’t Buy This Product
The Berta ceramiccurling iron is probably more for patient beauty enthusiasts. It will take some time to do all of your hair. Probably double the amount of time it takes with a normal sized item.
This is also not really recommended for daily use, since it would be way easier to use a full sized curling iron instead.
This is more for touch ups or when you’re traveling since hotels have blow dryers, not other styling items.
I would also not recommend this for someone who wants a high quality product.
This is a cheap and affordable item. While the price is a perk to some people, others need to remember: you get what you pay for!

As usual, I want to run through all the benefits of this product. Given that it is a bit simple and its small size, it probably won’t be a huge list.
This isn’t because it is a bad product, it just doesn’t have as much room! But this little iron has plenty to give considering the size!
- This is an extremely affordable curling iron.
- It has a very short barrel of only about 4 inches. The total length of the item is almost 10 inches.
- The small size makes it the perfect travel sized curling iron for any light packer!
- It has a low/high/off switch that gives you a few options as far as heat. But it does not have any kind of automatic shut off feature.
- The highest temperature is 350°F. This is pretty impressive for its small size!
- It has a reasonably sized cord with a 360° swivel action. This makes curling your hair so much easier! There is less of a chance of getting tangled and frustrated!
- The size of the barrel is 1 inch. This is a great size for medium and long hair. It may be a bit too large for shorter hair styles, but that is something that you would have to determine for yourself!
- This curling iron is so small that it heats up quickly and evenly so you can get to work on your hair as fast as possible!
