Batiste Dry Shampoo, Beautiful Brunette

The best thing about dry shampoo is the fact that it is super easy to use! You can get ready so much faster! I found out about the convenience of dry shampoo only a few years ago. Before that I actually used baby powder to soak up and oils at my roots. Typically, I don’t have any issues greasy looking hair. My hair has always been on the dry side. So when I do get oily hair it is very mild and only on the roots. Dry shampoo is the best way for me to fix that problem quickly and efficiently. Baby powder was always much messier and it was very hard to control the residue without making my hair look grey and dirty. Not exactly the look I was going for!

Dry shampoo is a fantastic alternative and I can control the residue much more easily. But I tried it on my sister before and she didn’t have quite the same experience. I have dirty blonde hair that is a mix of all kind of shades. I have nearly white-blonde streaks in the front and the rest is a mix of honey gold and medium brown. It lightens up in the summer and darkens a bit in the winter. My sister has very consistently brown hair. In the summer it might lighten up to a very dark auburn in the summertime but it is pretty hard to see the difference. Dry shampoo can be a little tricky for her because it can leave a white residue behind that is super noticeable. But recently, I discovered Batiste Beautiful Brunette Dry Shampoo. It is supposed to have all the benefits of a dry shampoo, without the white residue. Leaving your hair just as dark and gorgeous as ever!

Things to Consider When Trying Batiste Beautiful Brunette Dry Shampoo

If you’re familiar with dry shampoos, you will probably know what you want to look for personally. Such as something that will absorb oils, last all day and give your roots a bit of a lift. But you may not be as familiar with this product in particular. Batiste Beautiful Brunette is just what it sounds like. A dry shampoo for all you lovely dark hair ladies. Here are the details!

  • Scent: Some say this has a very light and flowery scent that fades quickly. Other claim it was so overpowering they never bought it again. It all really depends on what you’re looking for personally. I have a feeling it will be just fine as long as you don’t use too much, which is a pretty good rule to live by anyway. But also always taking into account how sensitive you are to perfumes! That could help determine whether you really like a dry shampoo or not, a lot of them have pretty strong scents.

  • Hair Types: This is for brown and auburn hair colors. But it also is good for any hair type. Dry shampoo is especially great if you have thin hair and want something to add a little texture and lift!

  • Affordability: While this isn’t the cheapest one on our list, it is still very affordable! Price is certainly not a big issue when considering this particular dry shampoo.

  • Convenience: I think dry shampoo is one of the most convenient products in the world. It just has so many benefits! First and foremost you can use it to freshen up quickly. Half the time this is all I’m looking for. I don’t have very oily hair. I’m never greasy looking by the end of the day and take a day or two between washes. I know people who go even longer than I do. This helps keep you hair looking even fresher between showers which can give your hair a nice break!

  • Uses: First and foremost, this absorbs oils at your roots. My sister can’t even shower at night because by morning her hair will be so oily. Sometimes she will shower in the morning and be greasy looking by the end of the day. Since this is for brunettes, it would be great for her to freshen up before she goes out in the evening! Not to mention it will add texture and volume that will make her look like she just jumped out of the shower and styled your hair!

  • Drawbacks: So with other dry shampoos, there can be the danger of some white residue. But in this case, you can actually get grey looking residue instead. Not exactly an improvement. But both can be avoided by not holding it too close to your scalp, not using too much and working it in with your fingertips and gently brushing. The unique drawback to this particular type of dry shampoo is actually the thing that it makes it great. The brown shade of this dry shampoo can actually stain your skin if you aren’t careful! You just have to be extra careful!

Who Should Buy This Product

As I said before, I would recommend this for my sister. She has dark hair and the white residue of a normal dry shampoo can show up easily. This is a darker shade that would be great for her and the darker residue can be worked in easily! She also has super oily hair, especially in the summertime. This would make it very easy for her to freshen up when she really doesn’t need a shower and her hair just looks dirty. It’s a struggle! But one that can be remedied pretty easily with some dry shampoo! Not to mention, showering twice in one day is just terrible for your hair.

Batiste Dry Shampoo, Beautiful Brunette, 6.73 Ounce
  • Formulated with a hint of color for brunette and auburn beauties
  • Use between washes to instantly refresh your hair, no water required
  • Waterless formula absorbs dirt and grease to revitalize dull and lifeless hair

Who Shouldn't Buy This Product

If you have light blonde or even light brown hair, this isn’t really an option. It also might not be your favorite if you like really light products. You will definitely be able to feel this in your hair, so I wouldn’t consider it a weightless product. This could actually leave your hair feeling like you used hairspray. If you don’t overdo it, that might not be noticeable. I hate the feeling of hairspray though so I would probably not be a huge fan.

Batiste Beautiful Brunette Dry Shampoo

Batiste is a well known brand for their dry shampoos. They have a lot of different scents, a few different shades and they also have their classic dry shampoo. This in one is called Beautiful Brunette and is for anyone with brown or auburn hair! It comes in a 6.73oz bottle and is very easy to apply. It comes at a very affordable price. Since you don’t really need to use a lot, this bottle should last you awhile! It will add texture, volume and absorb oils from your roots. In the end it leave you looking fresh and clean. Ready for a night out in no time at all!

Features and Benefits

As always, I want to point out some of the very best aspects of this product. I like doing this because it makes it easier to narrow down whether this would be a good product for you. I know this isn’t something I would use personally at the present time. But I’m itching to dye my hair again and dark brown is one of my favorites. But until then, I want to give you the rundown, in case this is just the thing you’ve been looking for.

  • The most unique aspect about this dry shampoo is the fact that it is specifically for brown and auburn hair. Most of these products claim to be good for all hair colors. But when you have dark hair it can be hard to find something that won’t leave a white residue behind. It can be very difficult to blend in. Batiste wanted to help you avoid that issue by creating a shade specific dry shampoo that will blend into your hair so much easier.

  • It also can help you disguise your roots, or even your greys. I have naturally darker blonde hair that lightens up a lot on the summertime. This wouldn’t be great for me. But in the past I have dyed my hair just about an color or shade you can think of. Having different options like this would be great. Lord knows I’m bound to dye my hair in the future. I just happen to be giving my hair a nice long break recently.

  • Batiste is well known but still affordable. There has been a lot of times when I’ve heard wonders about an item, but the brand name attached to the product makes it incredibly expensive. I just can’t justify paying more for a brand name that is incredibly overpriced. Batiste is a brand that doesn’t overprice their items and still has a huge following!

  • Dry shampoo is an excellent way to refresh your hair between showers. That may include touching up your roots before you go out. Whenever I style my hair it holds really nicely. My curls light loosen up and bit but they won’t go away until my next shower. The really issue is having roots that fall so flat in comparison. By using dry shampoo you can give your roots a boost.

  • Batiste is a wonderful help and will help absorb and manage the oils at your roots. Greasy looking hair is really frustrating for me because I don’t have any issues with it on a regular basis. When I do it is only at the roots and I can’t stand it. A quick spray or two always does wonders.

  • Using dry shampoo is a huge time saver. Sometimes I go to bed and assume my hair will be fine in the morning. But when I wake up it turns out to be oily and look dirtier than I expected. Even though I took a shower the day before! A few quick sprays from this and my hair looks cleaner and has more volume and texture. Ultimately breaking up the look of dirty or oily hair and giving me a refreshed appearance in not time at all.

  • Keep in mind that this is a unisex product! I know plenty of boys who could use a boost at the roots...even if they don’t realize it! This will help freshen up any haircut. To be honest, I know the guys need some convenient products just as much as us girls.

  • This can especially come in handy if you have thin hair that needs a little added texture if it isn’t going to fall completely flat. I know men and women who have the same problem. My husband actually started growing his hair out and it’s down to his shoulders now. He has a terrible time with it and can’t get away with rinsing it quickly like he did when it was shorter. He could use a boost sometimes and this would do just the trick!

  • Last but certainly not least, this Batiste product has a light floral scent. It is fantastic if you have been looking for something lightly scented that won’t be too overwhelming!

Social Proof

This is a really popular product! The Batiste brand is really well known. Most people know the Original Clean & Classic version. But some people want a little more guarantee that there won’t be any visible residue! People with really dark hair or even just brown hair have a big issue with this more than anyone else. I have never had much of an issue with this personally, but I can understand. I used to use baby powder after all. I know all about accidentally overdoing it and having powdery hair. I don’t even have dark hair! Another reason people found this very handy was because training your hair to go without shampoo is becoming really common. The big downside is the fact that your hair is bound to get really greasy looking in the process. This can keep your hair from looking oily while your hair gets used to going without shampoo!

Alternatives

Just in case you don’t need something like this, I always like to include some alternative products. Batiste Beautiful Brunette is a very specific product and not everyone would need this exactly. They do have some other shades, for very dark hair or even blonde hair. If you’d like to find them, you can find them on Amazon as well. But I wanted to mix things up a little bit and include some new products you might be interested in! I will be doing a review on each one individually soon and you will be able to get all the details on them!
  • Suave Professionals Dry Shampoo

Suave is a very well known brand and has always been very affordable. I think people have the impression that it is a cheap brand and that it doesn’t have great quality. But you will be pleasantly surprised in this case even if you don’t always like their products! I use their Suave Professionals Almond and Shea Butter shampoo and conditioner on a regular basis. It’s great in my opinion. Bt this of course isn’t about shampoo or conditioner. Their dry shampoo is quick and convenient for when you just don’t have time for a full shower. It has a nice scent, easy to use and the added ingredient of keratin will help keep your hair smooth and manageable.

Who Should Buy This Product

I would recommend this for anyone who wants a very useful and affordable product! It contains keratin that will help contain and absorb the oils. It will also leave your hair looking smooth and feeling manageable. If you have been on the watch for a dry shampoo that will leave behind minimal residue and doesn’t have a strong scent, you will like this one! Not only can you freshen up your hair between washes, but you can add a little volume to your roots and make your hair style look fresh.

Suave Professionals vs Batiste Beautiful Brunette: Dry Shampoo Comparison

  • Suave is very affordable
  • Batiste is made specifically for brown hair
  • Suave has the added ingredient of keratin for added smoothness
  • Suave leaves hair feeling soft and manageable
  • Both will absorb oils and leave hair looking fresh

Suave really is a great brand with affordable products. The fact that this doesn’t have an overwhelming scent is a huge plus. It’s hard to find something that does the job without leaving you smelling like a walking cloud of perfume. If you are interested in this incredibly affordable product, you can find Suave Professional Dry Shampoo on Amazon!

  • Not Your Mother’s Clean Freak Dry Shampoo

We reviewed the Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Dry Shampoo in the beginning of this list. This is their other option. It is such a great brand, there’s really no wonder it made the list twice! The other smelled of coconut which was great for some people and overwhelming for others. This is a more neutral scent and if you didn’t like the other you definitely might like this one instead! This one also comes in a 2-pack for a great price and with be such a time saver!

Who Would Buy This Product

If you are more sensitive to scents this could certainly be a better option for you! It does the same as any other promises. Everyone loves the way it freshens up their hair, absorbing the oil and providing texture and volume. This is also a nice alternative if you want something that is more neutral than something that is specifically for a certain hair color, like Batiste Beautiful Brunette. Like I said before in this review, I used to dye my hair a lot. All it took was to feel that itch to try something new and I would have all my supplies by the weekend. But if I ever do that again I’m certainly going to need a product that is good for all hair colors! If you find yourself trying something new pretty often, you might enjoy this as well!

Not Your Mother’s Clean Freak vs Batiste Beautiful Brunette: Dry Shampoo Comparison

  • Not Your Mother’s has a fresh scent
  • Batiste is meant for brunettes
  • Not Your Mother’s can be used on all hair colors
  • Both add volume and texture, as well as absorbing unwanted oils
  • Not Your Mother’s come’s in a twin pack for almost the same price

While this might not be everyone’s absolute favorite product, it’s straightforward and such a time saver. It is easy to use, the smell won’t be overpowering and you can get ready in a pinch. No need for any sticky hairspray when you’re just trying to get a little volume! If you’re interested, you can find Not Your Mother’s Clean Freak Dry Shampoo on Amazon!

  • Moroccanoil Dry Shampoo

Moroccanoil has certainly come to be more popular these days. I had never even heard of it growing up. Not you can find keratin, moroccan oil, coconut oil or even argan oil in an array of products. It’s pretty understandable, they can have great benefits and leave your hair feeling so healthy and soft. Moroccanoil dry shampoo is a little on the expensive side, but all the customers say it’s well worth the price. It is meant more for light hair and is a very lightweight product that will last all day!

Who Would Buy This Product

This particular is more of an alternative for light hair colors. It will easily leave a white residue in dry hair so you may want to consider their other options if you would like to try this in dark hair. I thought it would be a great alternative if you have light hair and liked the sound of a dry shampoo that was made for your hair color! It smells good, as long as you like to smell of moroccan oil and it has a long lasting effect. It also is perfect if you have been hoping for something that won’t leave your hair feeling chalky and gross like so many can.

Moroccanoil vs Batiste Beautiful Brunette: Dry Shampoo Comparison

  • Moroccanoil will leave your hair feeling soft and manageable
  • Batiste is half the price
  • Moroccanoil is for light hair
  • Batiste is for brown hair
  • Moroccanoil will not stain your skin

While this one is a bit more pricey, it is a great product. There were so many rave reviews I was almost tempted to try it out for myself. It does leave a residue, but it can be easily worked in so it is no longer visible. It also leave your hair so soft and manageable that it’s hard to believe that you used dry shampoo in the first place! For me, that alone is worth the price! If you’re interested in checking this one out for yourself you can find Moroccanoil Dry Shampoo on Amazon!

Conclusion

Dry shampoo can really save you when you need to get ready quickly. I love using it to give my roots a boost before going out with my friends. When I style my hair it is bound to get a little flat at the top. I can’t stand hairspray, so this is the perfect alternative to get a little volume right at the roots. No sticky residue and no crunch feeling hair is a major bonus in my book. But this product by Batiste is even more useful for people with dark hair. Dry shampoo is known to give you white powder roots if you aren’t careful. I have relatively light hair and can work that powdery stuff in without much of a hassle. By just using my fingertips and a brush, it blends evenly. But my sister has really dark hair and doesn’t have as much luck with that normally. But Batiste Beautiful Brunette just might be the right option for her!

She can use this darker dry shampoo to give her roots a boost and look fresh whenever she needs a little help. Since she has really oily hair naturally this doubles up and absorbs the oils that can weigh down her hair. It is so easy to use and you can get your hair looking really fresh in no time. Considering she just had a baby, this might come in handy even more than normal! Overall, we gave this a 5 star rating because it’s hard to get over the fact that this is so useful. It’s great that they have specialized products, rather than just sticking with their basic dry shampoo. If you have had a lot of trouble finding the right dry shampoo for your dark hair, this certainly might be something to consider. Batiste Beautiful Brunette Dry Shampoo can be found for a great price on Amazon! You can even find it in multi-packs if you go through it really fast!
