French braids are my go to, but there are so many different ways to do your hair. You can do buns, twists, various styles of braids or ponytails. Hairstyles for long hair are endless! I’ve always been a big fan of searching Pinterest and winging it. But after doing it for so long, I have a few ideas for hairstyles for long hair that I wanted to share with you!
The best part about updos for long hair is the fact that you have more options than ladies with short hair. But even if you do have short hair, extensions are always an option whenever you want a gorgeous updo for a formal event or wedding. Easy Updos For Long Hair
Buns
Simple buns are easy updos! There are different ways you can do it. You could add braids, extra twists, or cute hair clips. If you have really thin hair, you might think this isn’t an option for you. Messy Updo
When I was around 12 years old, the main hairdos for long hair consisted of throwing your hair up into an awful messy bun. It was literally just a ratty knot of hair on the top of my head. But it is really easy to make a messy updo look fantastic. All you need to do is throw your hair up in a perfect bun and gently pull hair out until it is loose. You get the messy effect, but in a way that looks like you meant to do it. You could even pull some pieces out to frame your face. It is the perfect casual but classic updo for long hair!
Braided Updos For Long Hair
You might think that braids are super complicated, but it just takes a little practice. The nice thing about having long hair is the fact that you could to do multiple braids and pin each braid up separately. Your updo will look big and full because of the extra length you have. If you also pull on each loop, it will give you a really loose effect. That will make the whole thing really soft and elegant!
Fun and Funky Updos For Long Hair
Most people who do long hair updos think they need to look perfect. Every hair perfectly placed and looking elegant and smooth. But you could absolutely play around and do something different. An easy way to make a classic style look like a funky updo is if you have colored hair. I love doing my hair when it’s dyed a fun color. But you could also do cornrows into an elegant bun or do a fohawk with the top. If no one ever played around with their hair, we wouldn’t have the gorgeous hairstyles we have now anyway. I know it’s important to look beautiful on your big day. I loved my bridal updo! It was a loose braid in the front that tucked into a curly bun in the back. It was lovely and it held up perfectly. Bobby pins and hairspray are a girl’s best friend on her wedding day!
You could always consider doing an elegant twist. This is perfect if you have a really modern, sleek, and simple wedding dress. You could also add hair combs or bedazzled hairpins to add some extra sparkle!
Loose and lovely is always my favorite bridal updo. It can be a little harder to achieve without help. Hair tutorials are a must when it comes to formal hairstyles for long hair. There are so many tips and tricks to make complicated styles into super easy updos. You just have so much hair and length to work with. Plus it’s half impossible to see what’s going on back there! But this is by far one of my favorite bridal updos for long hair. And I mean really long hair.
