How To Get Kinky Hair with 3 Easy Methods

September 20, 2017 by Jennifer Scott

Going for kinky hair seems to be a never-ending trend among girls worldwide. And since everybody seems to ask how to get kinky hair easily, today we will present you three methods. Choose just one or test all three of them, depending on your preference.

How to Get Kinky Hair Easily

Method 1: Use a Curling Iron

Before starting curling the hair, make sure it’s completely dry. Comb out any tangles you may have and, if necessary, use a detangling serum or spray. Next, apply hairspray or setting spray. This helps the curls hold longer. If you want the best results, you should use a special product such as wave-enhancing gel, spray, or mousse. Let it dry.

Choose a curling iron that has a barrel of ¾ – 1 inch. If you want extra curly hair, go for a smaller one since this will create tighter curls. Set 1-inch sections and curl one at a time. Start at the top of the head and go in circles from there. If you want to have curls that will last all day, clamp the hair in the middle of the section, not at the end. Hold the curl for 5 seconds, then release it. As you go, pin up each curl with a bobby pin. This helps them set, as well as making it easier for you.

One professional trick is to alternate the direction and the size for each curl. Continue until you get all your hair curled and apply hairspray.

Method 2: Use Hot Rollers

First, heat up the rollers. Plug in the hot roller set and let it heat up. In general, it’s recommended you check the instructions on them, but you shouldn’t let them more than a couple of minutes. Just like with the first method on how to get kinky hair, you should start with dry and smooth hair. Add some mousse to your hair and divide it into 1-inch sections. The process is similar: place the roller in the middle of the section, curl it up and let them cool. Remove them and use hairspray, then finger-comb. Don’t use wet products.

Method 3: Use Bobby Pins Overnight

Naturally, you should start with dry hair. Divide the hair into sections bigger than the ones mentioned in the methods above if you want larger curls. Next, create small loops and use bobby pins to keep it in place. Make sure you don’t cross them, otherwise, they might come out. Do this with the rest of your hair and work from the top down. Let it all stay like this overnight. Ideally, you should sleep on a satin or silk pillowcase if you want to prevent frizz. Next morning, take out the bobby pins and finger-comb your hair.

Conclusion

Now that you know how to get kinky hair, it’s up to you which method you choose. The last one requires more time, but most girls prefer it because it doesn’t affect the hair with the heat. Meanwhile, the first two methods are faster, so if you want to get ready for a party and you don’t have that much time, it’s better to go for it.
