3 Minimalist Nail Art Ideas that Are Incredibly Easy and Effective

May 9, 2018 by Jennifer Scott

There is one thing that everyone should stay aware of and try to avoid by all means when it comes to nail art: cheesiness. And it’s not even because sometimes, such complicated models do not look good on the nails, because most of them do. It’s just that not everyone feels like putting pearls, glitter, and ribbons on their nails for fun. It’s just not for them. This is where minimalist nail art comes and saves the day for all those people who prefer small details over loud and bold ones.

So, if you are one of those individuals, you are in luck because this is what we’ll talk about today. Minimalist nail art has become popular over the past few years, and it’s mainly because it’s easy to do and looks incredible. It’s also because sometimes, you feel the need for some fresh air and you just cannot cope with all the sparkle and shine of these complex manicures. So, if you are bored of the same one nail polish shade on your nails but don’t want something too crazy, we have prepared a list of some of the prettiest minimalist nail art ideas that are both easy to do and incredibly effective. Enjoy!

1.      Geometry on the nails

This design is as easy as they come, but at the same time, it offers an interesting combination of nail art and geometry. It looks very elegant, polished, effortless, and even if it’s quite a simple model, it will surely draw some looks. To do it, you need to start off with a clear coat base over shorter nails because it looks a bit better like this. Then, with the help of a very thin brush or the tip of a toothpick, start drawing geometric shapes on your nail. You can do whatever you want, a triangle, a rectangle, circles small or big, or even pyramids. It’s all up to you. Even the color is up to you, but we found that white or black look the best on the clear base. Finish off with a clear top coat, and that’s it!

2.      Starry night

This second minimalist nail art idea is probably the simplest one in the world, but it looks so pretty that we couldn’t ignore it. Apart from a clear base coat, you will only need glue and some shapes that you can apply to your nail afterward. We think stars look the best for this particular look. Apply the glue on the back of the star and put it on the clear coat. Keep it in place for a few seconds to make sure that it will stick and voila! A starry night on your nails! This particular idea can be put into practice on both short and long nails. It will look equally dreamy!

3.      Reversed French manicure

For this interesting reversed French manicure you will need something to cover the rest of your nail with while leaving the bottom part, where the cuticle is, open for you to paint. Choose black and white nail polish and combine the two. The result will be mesmerizing and, as simple as it looks, the minimalist nail art idea will be the star of any party or event!
