Dry, flaky, and itchy skin represents a huge problem for men and women alike. While the negative effects become harder to endure in winter, summer is not easy either for people with dry skin. Dry air, be it cold or hot, make your skin become intolerable.

Dry skin is also more vulnerable to aging, spots, wrinkles, and many environmental stress factors like UV rays and pollution. If you have dry skin, you probably already know that home remedies for dry skin are your best bet against this condition.

Why Does Skin Dryness Occur?

Skin dryness occurs when your skin loses its moisture or it is incapable of retaining it. You can inadvertently contribute to the dryness of your skin by using harsh soaps or bathing too often without using a body moisturizer afterward.

According to medical specialists, dry skin occurs more frequently on your face and lips, legs, hands, and the sides of your abdomen. Extremely dry skin can lead to scaling, cracking, flaking and irritation.

Keeping your skin hydrated and moisturized using natural ingredients is the best way to combat the problem. While the skin care and cosmetic industry have its fair share of successful products, some people need home remedies for dry skin simply because their skin is too sensitive to chemical ingredients.

Home Remedies to Get Rid of Dry Skin on Face

Last time we talked about home remedies to get rid of dry skin on face, we mentioned some essential oils and natural sources of proteins and mineral. Natural oils, including olive, avocado, jojoba, coconut, and almond help keep dry skin hydrated. For best results, apply the oil immediately after a shower or a bath. Nevertheless, when it comes to home remedies for dry skin, things do not stop at oils. Let us see two more home remedies you can try at home:

1. Milk Cream Mask

An excellent moisturizer packed with proteins, milk cream helps you preserve the skin’s delicate pH levels due to its lactic acid.

  • Mix four tablespoons of gram flour with enough milk cream to make a paste.
  • Apply the paste on your face and let the mask sit for five minutes.
  • Rinse with lukewarm water.

If you follow this treatment daily, your dry skin will be able to keep its natural moisture better and have its pH levels kept under control.

2. Beeswax Treatment

home remedies for dry skin beeswax and honey mask

Keeping your face hydrated and nourished in winter is the path to walk on to make sure all itches and dryness stay away from you. This treatment brings together everything good in nature: raw honey, beeswax, olive oil, and vitamin E.

  • Melt the beeswax in a pan until liquid.
  • Add equal parts raw (unprocessed) honey and virgin olive oil.
  • Add a few drops of vitamin E.
  • Stir the mixture well until all ingredients are perfectly blended.
  • Let the mixture sit and pour it in an airtight container while it is still warm.
  • Put the container in the refrigerator.
  • Use the cream every day if you have dry, itchy skin in winter and put the container back in the refrigerator.

If you were interested in home remedies for dry skin in summer, this is a good choice. Besides its major healing properties, the refrigerator coolness will be a godsend after a hot summer’s day.

Here are some more DIY face mask for dry skin recipes you might want to try. Keep in mind that natural oils, honey, yogurt, shea butter, fresh fruits, and aloe are your best friends.

For best results to get rid of dry skin under your eyes, keep milk, honey, yogurt, avocados, cucumbers, and rose water in your pantry or fridge.

Home Remedies to Get Rid of Dry Skin on Legs

Both men and women suffer from dry skin on their legs. It matters less if it is winter or summer. Dry skin on legs is a common problem and one that can cause subsequent health issues. Among our favorite quick remedies for dry skin on legs, we mention coconut oil, shea butter, avocados, bananas, papaya, and honey. Nevertheless, today we have one more treatment for dry skin for legs you might want to try as regular daily skin care products, especially if you have itchy skin.

1. Spicy Moisturizing Cream

Juniper berries and cloves have anti-inflammatory properties and a healing effect on dry skin. Together with the nutritious and moisturizing effects of beeswax and butter, these spices will make your go-to remedy for dry skin on legs that need soothing.

  • In separate pans melt equal parts of unsalted butter and beeswax
  • Mix the two together when the beeswax melted
  • Grind fresh juniper berries and cloves and don’t let the volatile substances in both spices go to waste
  • Put the ground spices in the liquid butter/beeswax mix and allow to cool
  • Put the cream in an airtight container and add a few drops of vitamin E for even better results.
  • Use the cream daily for your legs to keep the dry skin under control.

This is one of the best home remedies for dry skin on feet as well. The volatile substances in the spices soothe your dry tired feet in summer with positive results.

Home Remedies to Get Rid of Dry Skin on Hands

Dry skin on hands is a very common problem and it does not depend on season, although in winter we are vulnerable to considerable suffering. There are plenty of home remedies for dry skin on hands. They usually include the usual healing ingredients: honey, olive oil, aloe, and olive oil among others. Today we will see a home remedy you can use as a treatment on a daily basis.

This treatment uses the same ingredients you find very often in cosmetic products. However, many cosmetic products contain parabens or other chemicals that harm sensitive skin. If you are looking for home remedies for dry skin on face with acne or for extremely dry skin on hands, this is what you are looking for:

1. Glycerin and Rose Water
