May 21, 2018 by Jennifer Scott

Guilt-free meals that are also healthy and don’t end up causing weight gain can be a real head-scratcher. You want to lose weight, keep your health intact, cook at home, but still, enjoy a tasty meal. Is such a thing even possible? Of course, it is! Just take a look at these three healthy dinner recipes for weight loss we have prepared for you.

1. Tasty Sweet and Sour Pork Chops

What you need

  • 8-ounce pork chops
  • Salt and pepper, as much as you want
  • Two tablespoons of butter
  • A quarter cup of balsamic vinegar
  • Three tablespoons of honey
  • Three cloves of garlic
  • Half a teaspoon of dried oregano, basil, and thyme each
  • A few red pepper flakes, if you like it spicy

How to do it

  • Preheat your oven to 400.
  • Season the meat according to your taste.
  • Melt the butter and add the pork chops over medium heat. Sear them on both sides until they turn golden brown. It should take you about two or three minutes.
  • Move the dish to the oven and cook it until it’s done all the way through. 20 minutes at 140 degrees.
  • For the sweet and sour glaze, combine all your ingredients in a saucepan and add some salt and pepper. Stir over medium heat for about five minutes until it has thickened.
  • Serve right away.

2. Cauliflower Chowder

What you need

  • Two tablespoons of butter
  • A few cloves of garlic
  • One diced onion
  • Two diced carrots
  • Two diced celery stalks
  • A quarter cup flour
  • Four cups chicken broth
  • One cup milk, 2%
  • One head chopped cauliflower
  • One bay leaf
  • Some parsley leaves
  • Salt and pepper

How to do it

  • Melt your butter in a large pot. Make sure the heat is on medium. Add the vegetables sans cauliflower and cook them until they are tender, stirring them from time to time for about three or four minutes.
  • Add the cauliflower and your bay leaf as well. Leave them to cook for five minutes more until they turn crisp-tender.
  • Add the flour and stir everything until it has browned a bit.
  • Pour in the milk and chicken broth. Whisk everything together constantly until it has thickened.
  • Let everything boil. Then reduce the heat and let the pot simmer until the cauliflower is tender. It should take about 12 to 15 minutes.
  • Add salt and pepper.
  • If you find that your chowder is somewhat thick, you can add more milk.
