In this day and age, you can’t even begin to imagine how many types of eyeliner there are. You have endless options. There is color eyeliner, classic black, liquid liner, pencil liner, and the list goes on and on. So, if you want to try out some eyeliner, you have tons of different things to try out.
Drugstore VS. HighEnd Liquid Eyeliner
Have you ever tried to use liquid eyeliner? Possibly you wanted to make a wing? If so, then you already know that liquid eyeliner is not very easy to apply. The first few times of using liquid liner will be tricky, but you will get the hang of it eventually! With liquid liners, you can find that they vary prices. Depending on where you go to get your liner we could be talking anywhere between $3-$30. Some of the top-rated drugstore liquid liners are from brands like NYX, Maybelline, Covergirl, etc. You can find these for a reasonable price! When walking into a Sephora, you see larger brands selling one liquid liner for $18+.
Tips/Tricks Applying Gel Eyeliner
The hardest part about eyeliner is applying it. This is true with every type of eyeliner but especially gel liner. You have to be very precise, use just the right amount of gel, and make sure to take your time! We wanted to give you some tips/tricks on how to apply gel liner so it will come out as planned.
Tip #1. Use a posted note
Sounds crazy, right? This tip can be beneficial when you’re using all types of eyeliner, not just gel liner. All you do is stick the posted note where you want your sharp edge to be on your eye and follow the line when applying! Place the piece of paper on from the outer corner of your eye to the eyebrow. It helps to develop a flick and wing! Try this out and watch as the magic happens! If it doesn’t work the first time, try again.
Tip #2. Use Concealer
Once you’ve tried to apply your gel liner, you can make it look even sharper by using a concealer to make the edges straight! You have to try it! You’ll be shocked at the results! Just take a small brush, add concealer to it, and carve out the shape of your eyeliner. Boom! You’re already finished, and your gel liner is fantastic.
How To Apply Pencil Liner
Pencil liner is more comfortable to apply than a liquid or gel liner. Which ends up making it a better bet to try if you’re starting out with eyeliner. It can be smokey, precise, smudged, or whatever you want it to be. Step number one when using pencil eyeliner is to make sure that it is sharpened. Make sure there is a visible tip. It will help with getting as close to the lash line as possible. Gently press on the lash line and begin drawing across while filling in where your lashes lay. When you reach the end of your lash line, you can make your next move. Either stop it right there, or you can pull it out and take a smaller brush and blend it.
If you want a darker eye look than that, you can re-apply or smudge it out. Pencil eyeliner can go wherever you want but typically goes on your lash line or your waterline! Applying pencil liner is easy! If you’re experiencing a hard time with this, then just keep trying. You’ll get there! Eyeliner takes a lot of practice. You’ll hear that from a lot of people!
