Everyone probably knows what a French manicure should look like. It’s a classic and timeless design after all. It works every time, for every event, and it’s such a versatile nail design that it’s impossible not to have tried it at least once. However, if it was not for you, these modern designs of a classic manicure might be exactly what you need. What can be more fun than reinterpreting the classic and adding a twist to the mix, especially for spring and summertime? This is why, to help you, we’ve selected some different French manicure ideas for you to try out.
Apart from the traditional French manicure that everyone is familiar with, you should know that there are a lot of ways in which you can alter this design and reinterpret it. Who says you can’t mix a French with interesting nail art? Or add jewels or glitter? For a special event, you can go bolder and do something grand. While for an everyday manicure, you can simply change the colors or add different textures. It’s quite simple if you think about it. Anyway, here are some of our favorite different French manicure ideas for this summer. Enjoy!
1. Nude French manicure
The secret to this simple manicure is in the nude (or pink, if you feel bold enough) nail polish base. In order to get rid of the classic, see-through base, a delicate color will give this manicure reinterpretation an incredible elegance. This look is perfect for a wedding or some other event where you are required to be elegant and feminine. That thin white crescent shape, a trademark for the French manicure, is the best frame for the creamy, nude texture underneath. You can even do a nail in a different shade of nude or add a certain texture, like going matte. It’s all up to you!
2. Prism French manicure
This look looks the best on a longer nail but don’t worry if you can’t achieve that. It also looks good on shorter nails. The secret here is to create a sharp angle at the center of the otherwise round crescent shape at the tip of the nail. This looks will be completely transformed and become a sharp and edgy one. Don’t be afraid to even use a matte black for this, over a nude or milky pink base. It will look incredible!
3. Metallic French manicure
The base for this type of manicure is the same as with the prism one. However, you can give up on the sharp angle and do the crescent normally. However, it’s all in the colors and textures here. Use a matte metallic nail polish for your base. It can be gold, silver, bronze, or rose gold. It doesn’t even matter that much. Then, create the crescent with a real metallic nail polish in the same shade. So, if you chose gold, do gold here too. This is probably the most futuristic approach to a French manicure that you can do.
