Many people today spend hundreds up to thousands of dollars just to get youthful and glowing skin. Others even utilize their Medicare benefits just to achieve their goals of having great and flawless skin. Little did they know that there are much more inexpensive, more natural, and fresher ways of achieving this.
One best way to have a glowing skin is yoga.
Apparently, yoga is not just an exercise that you can do every now and then just to clear your mind. It is actually an all-inclusive approach to having a healthy and clean mind, soul, and body. And yoga can provide you with a glowing skin because it freshens and cleanses your whole system. It enhances the blood circulation that eliminates free radicals.
These are the yoga poses that you may do on a daily basis to improve your skin.
Pranayam
Pranayam is one of the basic poses of yoga, and the purpose of this pose is to control your breathing. All you need to do is to sit up straight and cross your legs over upon sitting. Make sure that your shoulders and neck are comfortable.
Slowly place your palms on each of your knees and start breathing deeply. Take big inhales and exhales for 3 to 5 minutes.
Tadasana or Mountain Pose
Tadasana is the foundation of all standing poses in yoga. You can do this by simply standing straight with feet close together. While standing, make sure that you firm the muscles on the thighs and not on lower belly.
Now, imagine linear energy straightly passing through your legs, groin, the core of the torso, neck, and head. Keep this position for 1 to 3 minutes while slowly managing your breath.
Uttanasana
Uttanasana is also known as the standing forward bend pose. This will enhance the blood circulation in your hamstrings. Also, this will soothe your mind and upper body.
The first thing you need to do is to put your hands on your hips. Slowly, bend forward using your hip joints and not your waist. Bend until your torso reaches your legs, but you must keep your legs straight.
Now, place your palm or fingers on the ground and let your head hang. Stay in this position for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
Bharadvaja’s Twist
The Bharadvaja’s twist is quite challenging to do, but it will benefit your skin largely if you do this daily.
Come to a sitting position with your legs straight out in front of you. Once you are comfortable with your position, switch to your left buttock and bend your knees. Slowly, raise your right ankle and place it on top of the left leg.
Inhale and then twist your torso to the right with your right arm reaching your right feet. Now, exhale and place your left arm on your right knee. Press it until it twists you more. Stay in this position for 1 to 3 minutes and keep a steady breathing rhythm.
Utkatasana
Utkatasana is also called as the chair pose. You can do this by starting with the standing position. Inhale and slowly raise your arms perpendicular to the floor. You may either open your palms or stick your palms with each other.
Now, exhale and slowly bend your knees until your thighs are parallel to the floor. By doing this, your torso will lean slightly to the floor.
Stay in this position for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
Shirshasana or Headstand
The Shirshasana or headstand is an advanced type of yoga pose but will benefit your skin and mind greatly.
Start this pose by kneeling on a mat. Once you’re settled, place your forearms with your fingers placed with each other. Slowly straighten your legs with your feet holding the balance. From there, walk slowly towards your hips creating a V formation.
Once you’re in this position, lift your legs using the weight of your thighs. But, you have to be careful with your shoulder blades. So, be sure that you align your shoulder blades with your spine. Straighten your body to align it with your legs and feet.
Stay in this position for 1 to 3 minutes while breathing slowly.
Halasana or Plough Pose
The Plough Pose increases the blood circulation in your face and head resulting in a great skin.
To do this pose, you have to start by laying yourself straight down to the mat. Once you are comfortable, you can slowly lift your legs until they are off the ground. From here, continue to lift until you can lift your lower back off the mat.
Now, gradually place your legs over your head until your curl your core. Stay in this position for 1 to 3 minutes.
Sarvangasana or Shoulder Stand
Sarvangasana or the Shoulder Stand is somewhat similar to the Plough Pose. You have to do the same steps. The only difference is that you won’t place your legs over your head.
Once you straighten your legs and lower back, you have to stay there for 1 to 3 minutes.
Matsyasana or Fish Pose
Matsyasana is largely for balancing the hormones. As a result, it can enhance your skin and allow it to be firmer and more flexible.
All you need to is to lie back on the mat. Slowly, raise your upper back while leaving your head on the mat. So, it’s like you are forming a space on your back. Now, place your hands on your buttocks and stay in this position for 3 minutes.
All of these poses are found to be very helpful in keeping your skin healthy and glowing. It may not show you the results that you wanted quickly. But, it will certainly benefit your skin in the long run.
