How These 12 Celebrities Beat Their Skin Problems

October 6, 2017 by Katerine Simons

There is nothing more gratifying than learning how the stars suffer, just like us. Let’s be honest about it, it feels good to know that they’re still just humans, with embarrassing skin problems that we can relate to. The only difference is that they might have a few more bucks to throw at their problems. Here are a few celeb-solutions to skin problems that anyone can have.

  1. Miley Cyrus

In her own words, Miley had bad skin growing up, which made her feel insecure, especially being on TV. Her current skincare routine involves never going to bed without making sure her face is clean, and regularly cleaning her brushes to keep them free from contamination and bacteria.

  1. Victoria Beckham

The popular spice girl used to suffer from spotty skin. What changed? Her dermatologist recommended that she eat salmon every single day. She took his advice seriously, having it once a day, for either breakfast, lunch or dinner.

  1. Katy Perry

This diva claimed she had the kind of bad skin that made her want to hide. After living under layers of makeup or hiding in bed on bad days, Katy got it together with Proactiv. Does Proactiv really work? According to Perry, it does.

  1. Cameron Diaz

This blue-eyed beauty once suffered from terrible acne due to her poor diet. She actually tried everything she could, from prescriptions to over-the-counter remedies. How did she get over it? To get the skin she has today, she had to listen to her body’s alarm system, and ditch the burgers, fries and other fast foods.

  1. Kerry Washington

A long-time sufferer of eczema, Kerry knows the struggle for flawless skin all too well. What does she do to deal? She makes it a point to exfoliate thoroughly, and uses a red light to deal with bacteria build up. To keep the dry skin away, she keeps a moisturizer on hand, especially when she travels.

  1. Rihanna

Just like any regular female, Riri has a rough week every month, one that she calls her “ugly week.” This recurring monthly mayhem involves face pimples, feeling fat and bad mood swings. Her remedy? Cutting down on her alcohol intake and increasing how much water she’s getting, especially during her bad week.

  1. Vanessa Williams

This first-ever African American Miss America winner has faced the struggle with acne as an adult. Her affliction was so bad, she tried all sorts of prescription remedies. What finally worked for her? Proactiv, an acne treatment that she has since been a spokesperson for, for a very long time.

  1. Cynthia Nixon

A rosacea sufferer, this celebrity spokesmodel has been in the limelight for her courage to talk about the affliction. She knows the embarrassment and self-consciousness of the struggle all too well. To beat it, she had to make major changes to her diet and lifestyle, such as cutting down on red wine, spicy food, and sunshine.

  1. Jessica Simpson

Well-known for being a blond bombshell, this celebrity suffered from a plague of pimples in her younger years. How did she beat her acne to appear on-camera with flawless skin? She claims Proactiv was the secret to her success, although, some claim that her clear-skin-success was actually due to her Accutane prescription.

  1. Alicia Keys

This singing superstar knew exactly what it felt like to “have a face full of bumps and pimples.” She struggled with adult acne and used Proactiv to keep it in check. Her lasting results really came during her pregnancy with her son, when she began drinking more water and cut dairy from her diet.

  1. AnnaLynne McCord

This drop-dead gorgeous girl has been through the struggle of breakouts and lived to tell the tale. Like many others struggling with acne, she found her success in dealing with hers internally. Although she can’t bring herself to make major changes to her diet, she drinks a skin-balancing formula that clears her skin from the inside-out.

  1. Megan Fox

This Hollywood sex-symbol used to suffer like the rest of us, with terribly problematic skin. Rumor has it, this star invests quite a bit of money on cosmetic procedures to look flawless. However, she took to Instagram, shortly after the birth of her third son, to share her secret to her beautiful skin. She uses a night repair serum to reduce wrinkles and fine lines, a radiance cream with vitamin C and retinol, and a regenerative oil complex serum – all as a part of her nightly routine.
